Community-Led Housing Offers Value for Money

ECH News

A new report published in September, commissioned by the National Community Land Trust Network,  outlines the high value for money community-led housing can provide.

The report shows that over a 10 year horizon, each £1 of public support delivers £1.80 of benefit. This figure is even greater, at £2.70, when health and benefit savings as well as well-being and income distribution are factored in. This shows that community-led housing provides good value for money, delivering economic, social, and environmental benefits.

The findings of this report provide strong evidence of the benefits and value for money of community-led housing, boosting the case for the Community Housing Fund to be renewed for a further 5 years.
